I bought the WS-9520U LaCrosse last week. As usual, the transaction and shipping with Amazon was excellent. I very rarely return online purchases, but this is going backwards. In general, the unit is as advertised – and some may find completely satisfactory – but, after two nights of use, I found the following specific aspects that are unacceptable:
  1. The backlight can not be set to stay on continuously – it is only lit when you press a button – whether you're feeding AC power or batteries. I think the clocks are always more convenient when you can see very well tonight, uh,. Yes, the ceiling for projection displays time, but nothing more. This is less convenient.
  2. General build quality is questionable at best – the buttons are outdated, heavy and awkwardly placed. The whole unit seems weak – as is just holding itself together. It is very light and not have a very strong base, which will make it prone to being knocked down (like when you reach the snooze button – you can not see because it is not lit and no backlight) and I'm not sure that this thing could survive being knocked over. Sorry to say, but for $ 70, this just seems very cheap built from the mechanics of things.
  3. I suppose this is obvious in retrospect, but real-time display is very small, maybe an inch high. Of course, you have the projector, which works as advertised (only in the darkness of the room – the projection is photo-sensitive on / off – no other choice) but to see the clock across the room during the day (when the projector is not) is not really possible unless the astronaut's eyes you have.
  4. No hay opciones de alarma y el tono existente es – en mi humilde opinión – desagradable y muy fuerte – una especie de staccato agudo doble chirrido. I realize this is a personal matter, but a few options bell would have been nice.
  5. There is absolutely no chance that the battery cover on the outdoor sensor will keep the sensor elements. Maybe this is not a problem for a protected place outdoors to locate the sensor – but if there is any moisture at all, this will not last a winter here in Michigan.
  In summary:
Electronics: Fair and as advertised, Tho the few things I mentioned could be better
Mechanical: unacceptably economic adjustment of the Assembly of poor quality and finish of this price.

Until recently I had the little brother of this unit and really loved it. Recently changed my needs and I wanted to be able to see the clock at night without having to reach over and press a button. I chose this unit because it projects the time and outdoor temperature on the roof, so all you have to do is look up and see the time.
It gives you a fairly accurate estimate represented by Oscar Outlook (the little man on the screen). Oscar dress according to weather conditions to give an idea of what to expect. I found that the forecast is 90% accurate!
The clock itself via radio waves from the atomic clock in Boulder, CO is very accurate and never have to worry about configuring it.
Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and would do it again if I had to.

that's why I like this watch:
  1. The backlight can not be set to stay on continuously – it only lights up when a button is pushed – but, in the ceiling projection displays time, very well and I'm near visual 10-foot ceilings . That's all I need. You can set the time and temperature projection, but time-only the manner prescribed.
  2. General build quality is very good – the buttons are sturdy and well placed. The unit is the form of a book, created on a heavy enough that it does not break anything that fell on him like a toe or head of a child (but I suppose I could draw blood from the head if he fell into a corner).
  3. The TIME display is large enough to see across a room of good size. If it was any big that do not fit in the bedside table.
  4. There are 2 alarms, not one I've used it already and it's great. And the sound is fine too. Musical alarm clock radio tends to blend into the background of dreams in the morning and sometimes I wake up with music habit.
  5. The sensors are accurate to 1 / 10 of one degree! I've tried to be correct. I put the two sensors, along with an old thermometer next to each other and were all the same.
  6. The second is read in synchronization with the atomic clock of others,
Note: If you find one for $ 25. 00 in sale somewhere, buy 3! It makes a cool gift for a gadget lover.
